Campsite Amenities
Camp Bow Wow Lincoln is a premier doggy day care and non-traditional boarding kennel, which means the pups are busy with camp activities during the day and go to their cabins only at meal time and bedtime. On weekends dogs are only out at play during the hours open and while not eating.
Our campsite consists of 7,000 square feet of indoor climate-controlled indoor and outdoor space for short hiking trips. Each Camper will be assigned his or her private Cabin (although siblings are allowed to stay in the same cabin) including a comfy bed and private dining. To make sure our Campers do not get homesick, we welcome you to bring a little piece of home with them, such as their favorite toy, pillow, or blanket (the other camper’s will never know!).
Inside CBW Lincoln you will find several play areas so that Campers with similar interests (constant play or simply a spectator), temperament, age, and size can play together. The outdoor campgrounds are separated as well and offer a variety of rough-n-tough toys to play on.
Wondering what your pup is doing while you’re away? With our online camper cams in every play area, you can keep an eye on him or her from your office or from the other side of the world. You might see him or her catching some rays in the noonday sun; or playing "can't catch me" games with the other campers. Rest assured, whatever the activity your pup will be well taken care of and having fun.
We have Camp Showers located on-site as well, in case a Camper needs a bath before returning home.
Camp Registration
Of course there’s paperwork to be completed before leaving your little Camper with us, but we promise to keep it simple. Here’s a list of what you need to bring to the pre-stay interview:
- Verification of up-to-date vaccinations including Rabies, Distemper, and Bordatella (canine cough).
- The name, address, and phone numbers of an emergency contact and your Veterinarian if you have one you prefer to use.
That’s it! Just don’t forget to bring your social, spayed/neutered Camper with you when you visit so we can meet.

Dogs have their day at camp
By JoAnne Young, Lincoln Journal Star, Sunday, June 7, 2009
Day camp agenda: archery, canoeing, s'mores, camp fires, camp songs, hikes and making friends.
OK, so at Camp Bow Wow we'll give you making friends. But Albert, Lennon, Moose, Coconut, Lucy, Hank, Buddy and the others have their own day camp agenda.
Drooling, digging, wrestling, sniffing.
Chasing, eating, resting.
Smiling for the camper cam.
Barking, wagging, wading in the pool.
Sitting, slobbering, bouncing.
But no melees allowed.
And no lap dogs at day camp.
Hank, the golden retriever whose owner is stationed in Iraq, is in attendance, trotting around the gravel yard and digging under the play equipment.
It's been nearly a year since Hank's owner left for the Middle East - seven years in Hank time.
Buddy, the 1-year-old Saint Bernard whose owner can't afford to keep him, is lumbering from the indoor to outdoor play area.
Mickey, a Lincoln Saltdog's dog, is getting in a game of chase.
Mariah, the English bulldog who wears the St. Francis medal (patron saint of animals) around her neck, is getting in lots of happy drool time.
Rufus, Lucy and Maggie, the sibling standard poodles, are getting their summer shampoos and hair cuts from groomer Sharon Costa.
Forty are at Camp Bow Wow on Friday, the beginning of one of the camp's busiest seasons, says owner Tom Ryan.
Dogs have to go through an interview to be allowed into camp. The dogs who are rejected turn out to be more people dogs than dog dogs, and wouldn't get along well there, Ryan said.
Camp Bow Wow, a national franchise that started in Boulder, Colo., has been open in Lincoln for about 18 months.
Owners who miss their pups while they're away at camp need only log on to the camper cam - something like"Hank and Mariah plus 38" reality TV - which offers views of the indoor and outdoor playrooms, where campers gather by size and temperament.
At the end of the day when it's time to reunite, it's almost a certainty, Ryan said, the pups will be dog tired from their day of play.
And don't forget to reply and tell all the Lincoln Journal Star Readers how much fun your pup has at Camp!
