The Camp Bow Wow Difference
At Camp Bow Wow dogs have the freedom to play all day with other dogs, or just hang out and relax. We have four indoor and three outdoor clean and comfortable play areas where dogs can just be dogs. For a little extra fun, we provide play equipment that some dogs love to climb. In the summer, we bring out ‘paw pools’ for our water-loving campers to splash around and cool off. If they don’t like the water, that’s OK too, Camp Bow Wow is fully air-conditioned for those ‘dog days’ of summer. If your dog is more of a couch-potato, no worries, they can while away the hours in our ‘pawvillion’ play area, complete with doggy cots & fleece bedding.
You can be sure your camper will always be safe and happy at Camp Bow Wow. Our counselors, who are trained in dog behavior and first aid, constantly supervise playtime. However, if you ever want to check in on your pooch, you catch watch them romping with his or her buddies on our web cams.
Most dogs are pretty tired after a day of camp, and overnight campers are tucked into their cabins with music and a campfire treat to settle in for the night.
At Camp Bow Wow, our first love is the dogs. That’s why we never charge extra for special treatment, individual playtimes, medications, and personalized feeding. We simply would never let the campers be without the things they need to be healthy and happy.
Play Schedule
Daycampers and overnight campers all play and rest on the same schedule. Rest is important for two reasons. First, for those dogs who eat during their break, resting an hour afterwards helps prevent a dangerous condition called Canine Bloat.
Second, rest breaks allow the dogs to come down from an elevated state of excitement and stimulation, which can cause frustration and irritability if it goes on for too long. Letting the dogs get to a point of crankiness is simply unsafe.
Ask a Camp Counselor for details on the current play schedule. Please understand that the schedule may adjust slightly depending on the needs of the dogs. If you cannot find your dog on webcam during playtime, please call us so we can address your concern.
Overnight Camp (Boarding)
Vacation? Business Trip? Allergic houseguests?
Bring your dog to Camp Bow Wow for an overnight stay! Overnight campers stay busy with camp activities during the day and go to their cabins only at meal time and bedtime. Siblings can share an oversized cabin to make it more like home. Evening "campfire" treats and soothing music at bedtime are always included in your dog's stay. All-day play, private cabins and plenty of canine and human contact help your pup sleep soundly at Camp Bow Wow while you are away.
Day Camp (Doggie Day Care)
Long work day? High energy dog? Separation anxiety? Guilt about infrequent walks?
Bring your dog to Camp Bow Wow for a day at camp! Early drop-off and late pick-up allow you to focus on your daily routine while your dog plays with our Certified Camp Counselors and his or her favorite canine friends. We'll find the play group that best fits your dog's personality. You'll find the schedule that best suits your dog's needs - a few days a week, a few days a month, or just "as needed". One thing is for sure - at the end of the day, each dog goes home tired and happy. That's good for your dog, and good for you, too!
Getting Started - Pre-Stay Interview and Registration
Like any Camp, we do have some rules for all Day Campers and Boarders.
- Must be four months or older
- Must be spayed or neutered, if six months or older
- Must be current on all vaccinations (rabies, distemper, bordetella)
- Must generally be in good health
- Must pass the Pre-Stay Interview
Pre-Stay Interview
We need to meet each new camper on an individual basis to make sure that Camp Bow Wow is right for them. Dogs must be friendly to people and other dogs. The Interview allows us to see how your dog interacts with other dogs, and how he or she deals with people when you are not present. Interviews are free and are available by appointment only, Monday through Saturday.
Registration
On the day of your scheduled Interview, please make sure you bring the following:
- A veterinarian's verification of your dog's current vaccinations (rabies, distemper and bordetella)
- Name, address and phone number of an emergency contact
- Name, address and phone number of your vet
- A quick-release collar and name tag
- Your dog!
That's all you will need. Once your dog is registered, you can make reservations for day care and boarding online or by phone.
