Camper's of the Month: Cinnamon & Opus
Opus is Missing! Please help. Reward offered.

Our beloved Camper of the Month, Opus, is a possible victim of a coyote attack & went missing on October 31st at 10:40pm. He disappeared from Bloomfield Hills, north of quarton and west of Woodward.
Opus is a two-year-old, neutered, male Yorkie. He is microchipped and was wearing 2 collars and a Halloween bandana. His family & his sibling, Cinnamon, miss him so much. We are devastated for them & hope someone, somewhere will find him.

At Camp Bow Wow dogs have the freedom to play all day with other dogs, or just hang out and relax. We have four indoor and three outdoor clean and comfortable play areas where dogs can just be dogs. For a little extra fun, we provide play equipment that some dogs love to climb. In the summer, we bring out ‘paw pools’ for our water-loving campers to splash around and cool off. If they don’t like the water, that’s OK too, Camp Bow Wow is fully air-conditioned for those ‘dog days’ of summer. If your dog is more of a couch-potato, no worries, they can while away the hours in our ‘pawvillion’ play area, complete with doggy cots & fleece bedding.
You can be sure your camper will always be safe and happy at Camp Bow Wow. Our counselors, who are trained in dog behavior and first aid, constantly supervise playtime. However, if you ever want to check in on your pooch, you catch watch them romping with his or her buddies on our web cams.
Most dogs are pretty tired after a day of camp, and overnight campers are tucked into their cabins with music and a campfire treat to settle in for the night.
At Camp Bow Wow, our first love is the dogs. That’s why we never charge extra for special treatment, individual playtimes, medications, and personalized feeding. We simply would never let the campers be without the things they need to be healthy and happy.
We opened our doors April 5, 2004, and have been happy campers ever since! Bob and Ann Roth, the founders of Camp Bow Wow Troy would like to share their happy ‘tail’ of how Camp Bow Wow Troy came to be.
In February 2002, we adopted a young pup named Buster from Happy Tails Animal Rescue in Saint Claire Shores, MI. We first saw Buster on petfinder.org, waiting for adoption along with his brothers and sisters. The photo of Buster on Petfinder showed him sleeping soundly. It was love at first site, and we quickly learned why he was photographed sleeping. Buster has only two speeds, fast and off. We could walk him until our legs fell off, but it did not begin to make a dent in Buster’s energy.
We began taking Buster to local dog parks and found that these trips were our favorite part of the day. It is simply impossible to be unhappy while watching joyous dogs at play. Letting Buster run and play at the park not only got him the exercise he needed, it was a nice social outlet for us as well, and we found other dog lovers to be among the finest people we have ever met.
During the same period, we were searching for a way to leave our corporate lives and start a business that we could run together and make a difference in the community. We investigated several options, from bed and breakfasts to shoe stores. We traveled extensively as part of the search, and found that there were no kennels in the Detroit area that would do for our Buster. Although Buster was crate trained as a puppy, leaving a high-energy dog like him in a cage all day was unthinkable.
When we saw the Camp Bow Wow franchise, we knew we had found our home. It has not only allowed us to be around the dogs we love so much, but allows us to give something back to the community in which we live. Not only do we create a lot of happy dogs and people, we donate a portion of our profits to local dog charities.
Best of all, we can bring Buster to work every day. Buster now serves as our ‘activities director’, leading frequent games of fetch and greeting new campers.
The Staff of Camp Bow Wow Troy

These guys spend all day at Day Camp, from early in the morning to late in the evening, watching over our campers. They are the ones who give out the special "Campfire" tasty treats each night before lights out, and tuck each camper into their own spacious, comfy and clean Camp Bow Wow® cabin. Where each cabin has a comfy bed to curl up on in a climate controlled atmosphere (sorry, no mint on the pillow). Campers from the same household can even stay together in the same cabin. They run the camp web cam monitoring and professional security systems that make sure all our Campers are happy and safe! They are the ones who serve our Campers every day, and take care of those special requests for your Camper, from medicines, extra treats, or special care for older pups and other requests.
