Is your dog stressed out being left at home all day? Maybe even bored enough to eat the couch or the dining room table?  Is your dog driving you nuts wanting to go for a run or a good game of fetch after your long day at work?  Then now is the time to visit Camp Bow Wow - Kentwood. Give your dog a new Leash on Life along with plenty of exercise and socialization. Our Canine Campers play all day with other campers and return home tired and free of stress.

Our camp has 8,000 square feet of indoor space and 3600 square feet of outdoor play area separated into 4 sections with Astroturf. Our campers have total access indoors and out! 

Our campsite is conveniently located at 4150 40th street S.E.  That is between Patterson and the Beltline, and less than a half a mile from the Gerald R. Ford International Airport. We are between 36th and 44th street.

                               

 

 

 Camp Bow Wow Kentwood is excited to offer the following services:

  Dog Day Care – your dog plays in a safe, climate-controlled, indoor/outdoor play area that matches his or her size, activity level, and disposition. Your dog is constantly monitored by one of our Certified Camp Counselors.

  Dog Boarding – when your dog boards with us, they participate in our Day Camp program at no additional cost, which means they’ll spend their day romping with their favorite friends. At night, your dog will enjoy their own spacious Cabin while lounging on a comfy cot, and snooze peacefully after enjoying a Campfire Treat. We feed our Campers their own food and to your specifications to ensure there are no upset tummies. We’re also able to administer medications, all at no additional charge. Please note: all medications must be in their original container as required by law.

   Camp Showers – your dog will go home looking and smelling clean after a bath, which includes bath with soothing oatmeal shampoo and blow dry. We also offer do-it-yourself baths at a reduced rate. We can take reservations also for dogs that aren’t enrolled in Camp. Our vaccination requirements apply to all dogs that come to Camp, including grooming only dogs.

• All dogs must be spayed or neutered after 9 months to 1 year of age.
• Vaccinations must be current including Rabies, Distemper, and Bordatella. 
• If your dog has not had a Bordatella vaccination in over a year, please wait 5-7 days for it to take affect.
• A negative fecal exam within the last six months (and each six months going forward).
• All dogs should be social with people and other dogs and in generally good health.

 We can exercise your dog on our Doggy Treadmill!  This is a tremendous mental workout as well as a physical workout.  Please sign up in advance for this service.  The Treadmill can be viewed on our Camper Cams in our Doggy Workout Center

• Bathing  for Campers
• Conducting dog interviews following proper Camp Bow Wow procedures and assigning dogs to appropriate play groups
• Performing a variety of cleaning and dog-related care and handling tasks

Applicants must be able to:

• Function as a team member in a fast-paced work environment
• Manage multi-dog play groups ranging from very small to very large dogs. Recognize and immediately address signs of discomfort or behavior issues
• Perform physically demanding work
• Work in a noisy environment
