About Camp Bow Wow Clarkston

Premier Doggy Daycare and Boarding

At Camp Bow Wow of Clarkston, the name of the game is fun and frolic for our furry four-legged friends.  We provide hours of camping fun whether your pup comes for the day, the night, or the week!

If your pup hasn't been with us before, you need to call and get them scheduled for an interview.  See the information below regarding requirements for campers and what you will need to bring with you on interview day.

Why doggy daycare?

We all seem to be busier these days with long work schedules, driving the kids to soccer or dance, getting the shopping done, etc. Often our dogs are left alone at home, not getting the exercise or attention they need and deserve.

So how does a pup work off all of their pent up energy? Well, they can stay home and chew on the furniture or perhaps start barking at the vacuum cleaner -- or they can go to Camp Bow Wow and play that excess energy away. You will be amazed at how a day at camp can make a huge difference in their behavoir.

Why consider us for your dog's boarding and daycare needs?

Camp Bow Wow Clarkston offers safe supervised doggy day care and overnight boarding that makes the word “kennel” obsolete.  It is where "A Dog Can Be A Dog".

Overnight Camp (Boarding)
Vacation?  Business Trip? Party? Concert?Allergic house guests?

Bring your dog to Camp Bow Wow for an overnight stay! Overnight campers stay busy with camp activities during the day and go to their cabins only at mealtime and bedtime. Siblings can share an oversize cabin to make it more like home. Evening “campfire” treats and soothing bedtime music are always included in your dog’s stay. All-day play, private cabins and a lot of TLC help your pup sleep soundly at Camp Bow Wow while you are away.

Day Camp (Doggy Day Care)
Long work day? High energy dog? Separation anxiety? Guilt about infrequent walks?

Bring your dog to Camp Bow Wow for a day at camp! We have hours to accommodate your busy schedule with early drop off and late pick-up. You may even want your dog to have a bath, to save you that time as well. Your dog will spend the day playing with all of their doggy friends while being supervised by our Camp Counselors. When you return, your dog will be one tired, happy pooch. That's good for him, and good for you, too!

Pre-Stay Interview and Registration

Our open play environment is not suited to every dog. All our campers must go through our Camp Interview to make sure that every dog has a good time at Camp Bow Wow.  Dogs must be friendly toward people and other dogs.  Like kids, dogs act differently when their guardian is not around. The interview allows us to see how your dog interacts with other dogs, and how he or she deals with people when you are not present. Interview days are always free and are by appointment only - Monday through Friday.

In addition, like any camp, we do have some rules for all dogs -- everyone must:
·     Be at least four months old or older
·     Be spayed or neutered (if age is six months or older)
·     Be current on all vaccinations (rabies, distemper, bordatella)
·     Be in good health
·     Pass the Pre-Stay Interview

Your Pup's Interview Day

On the day of your scheduled Pre-Stay Interview, please make sure you bring the following:

·     A veterinarian's verification of your dog's current vaccinations (rabies, distemper and bordatella)
·     Name, address and phone numbers of an emergency contact
·     Name, address and phone number of your vet
·     A quick-release collar with name tag
·     Your dog!

That's all you will need.  Once your dog has passed the interview, you can make reservations for day care and overnight stays online or by phone.

The Staff of Camp Bow Wow Clarkston
The staff at Camp Bow Wow spend all day, from early in the morning to late in the evening, watching over our campers. They are the ones who give out the special "Campfire" tasty treats each night before lights out, and tuck each camper into their own spacious, comfy and clean Camp Bow Wow® cabin. Where each cabin has a comfy bed to curl up on in a climate controlled atmosphere (sorry, no mint on the pillow). Campers from the same household can even stay together in the same cabin. They run the camp web cam monitoring and professional security systems that make sure all our Campers are happy and safe! They are the ones who serve our Campers every day, and take care of those special requests for your Camper, from medicines, extra treats, or special care for older pups and other requests.  They are also all certified in Pet First Aid and CPR.

We can’t wait to meet you and your canine companion at Camp Bow Wow of Clarkston!
