About Camp Bow Wow New Orleans

What's CAMP all about?

Ruff! Ruff! Let me, your favorite pooch Scout, tell you what a typical day at Camp Bow Wow is like for us pups. All day, we lucky canines get to run around in spacious play yards, chasing each other from inside to outside and back again, dodging big oak trees and climbing on agility play equipment.  On really hot days (and you know there are a lot of those in New Orleans), we get to take a dip in refreshing pools that are shaped like paw prints or dog bones (yum yum).

My friends and I get lots of love from all of our human friends here, too, since they are playful, certified camp counselors--they make camp really special. The only time we go into our cabins is to eat or sleep, like when we've played too much and need an afternoon nap. Our cabins are made cozy with comfy cots and warm blankies to snuggle with when we sleep. When I sleep at camp overnight, I get a “turn down service”in my cabin, a campfire treat to help me unwind after a long day of playing.   Camp really couldn't get any  better than this!  And my friends and I can't wait to meet your doggie friend, so hurry on over and bring him to play!

Camp Bow Wow New Orleans Camp Leaders

 Diane Cooke

Diane has been an animal lover her entire life.  Her home now includes her husband, the youngest 2 of her 4 children, 2 dogs, Phoebe and Tyson (shown), 2 cats, Zeena and Zorro, and lots and lots of fish in a saltwater aquarium inside and two beautiful Koi ponds outside.  There is never a shortage of rescue animals either-- whether it be a stray cat or dog, an injured bird or a turtle, the Cooke house is full of animals.  Camp Bow Wow has allowed Diane the ability to let her passion of dogs thrive.  If she's not behind her desk creating marketing extravaganzas, you will find her out in the yards with the dogs!  "It's my therapy!" she tells the clients. "I have the best job in the world.  Where else can you go and find unconditional love 24-7 from the most wonderful creatures on earth?  I pet them, love them, train them, play with them, only to be loved more and more! This is the most remarkable and rewarding business I've ever owned! I am truly blessed!"

Deb Lunsford

Deb is our cheerful and energetic Camp Director!  On any day of the week you can find her doing twenty things at one time, being a minimum of twelve places at once, and always with a smile on her face! She is pictured here with her 13 year old Black Lab, Magic, whom she rescued when she was just a pup. She has helped whelp puppies for neighbors, helped rescue dogs from the elements, helped foster animals until able to find good homes, and helped fundraise thousands of dollars to go to research cures for Canine Cancer.  Deb is from the country and you know what they say: "You can take the girl outta the country but you can't take the country outta the girl!"  And everyone who meets Deb will agree!  She and animals go hand in hand and the pups that come to Camp Bow Wow are all her babies. We are so fortunate to have Deb as the Leader of our Pack!
