Camp Bow Wow Alpharetta is a Premier Doggy Day and Overnight Camp,® conveniently located off Highway 9 near Mc Farland Parkway. We provide doggy daycare for owners wishing to drop their dogs off in the morning and pick them up in the evening, as well as overnight boarding for travelers. Overnight boarders participate in day camp and are tucked into their individual cabins at night, each furnished with a comfy cot and soft blanket.
With our all-inclusive pricing, you can relax knowing your furry friend is receiving all of the care, exercise, and attention you expect—at no extra cost.
All Day Play...
All dogs must pass a free interview and trial day before participating in daycare or boarding. At camp, pups are separated by size and temperament in our large indoor/outdoor play yards.
Our Certified Camp Counselors® closely monitor play group activity and are trained in dog behavior, health, and safety.
Want to see your pup play while you're away? Whether at work or on vacation, you can watch on our Live Camper Cams!®
Snooze The Night Away!
In Camp Bow Wow's all-day play environment, campers only retire to their cabins for meals, naps, and bedtime. Our climate-controlled cabins are furnished with a raised cot and soft fleece blanket. We offer three spacious cabin sizes for the same low rate. Our 4' x 4' cabins are comfy and cozy for all cuddly canines, our 4' x 8' cabins are spacious enough for two, and our massive 5' x 10' cabins can comfortably house up to three family campers.
Fresh water is always available in our indoor/outdoor yards and cabins. We encourage that you bring your dog's own food; however, we are happy to provide our food free of charge if you forget. You are welcome to bring bedding, toys, and treats to keep your camper feeling at home. Counselors will administer meds free of charge if the medication is in the original bottle and does not require injection. Plus, with owners' permission, campers get a tasty peanut butter Kong at bedtime then snooze the night away to our classical camp music. Woof and goodnight!
Want to Come to Camp?
You are welcome to come for a tour any time we are open, no appointment needed, but your dog's first visit must be by appointment - the doggy interview.
We also need your dog to pass the doggy interview before we can make a reservation. Please be aware that we do run out of space for overnight boarding whenever schools are closed (holidays, summertime, etc). If your dog needs to stay with us, please call us to make arrangements for your dog's interview.
In order to come for the interview or for any visit, your dog must meet our requirements:
- Must be at least four months old
- Must be spayed or neutered if over six months old
- Must have vaccination records documenting up-to-date Rabies and Distemper
- Last Bordetella vaccination no more than six months ago
- Must have some kind of flea and tick prevention
- Must be free of contagious disease
- Must wear a quick release collar
- Must pass the doggy interview
The manufacturers of Bordetella vaccine indicate it should be renewed every 6 to 12 months depending on the level of exposure. Because of the very high level of socialization at Camp and to ensure the health of all our campers, we require Bordetella vaccine to be renewed EVERY 6 MONTHS, regardless of how it was administered and regardless of your veterinarian's policy.
Even though your vet may remind you to get Bordetella updated annually, we regret we can not compromise our policy for any camper. Because of this, we need to know when your dog received the Bordetella vaccine, not when it should be renewed.
While we share the obvious concern about reproduction, this requirement has a lot more do to about keeping our campers on their best behavior. Dogs that are intact smell different than spayed or neutered dogs. This smell can not be detected by humans but is very obvious to other dogs. It brings out all the competitive instincts of other dogs, which can be very dangerous in our open play environment.
While we understand you may not want to spay or neuter your dog, we do not accept dogs more than six months old who are not spayed or neutered.
Lending a Paw
Our paw-losophy at Camp Bow Wow® is simple...it's all about the dogs. Some dogs will never be fortunate enough to know what a day at camp is like. That's why Camp Bow Wow® Alpharetta continuously fosters dogs from local rescue groups and holds regular fundraisers to spread the woof to those less fortunate.
Our camp's all-day play environment gives our fosters the exercise and socialization they deserve before finding their fur-ever homes. If you are looking for love, sniff out our Foster Dogs! You also can check out our partners, including Camp Bow Wow's non-profit organization, Bow Wow Buddies®, on our Events & Links page.
We believe every dog should have his day, not just those with caring owners who take them to camp.
