SAFETY FIRST: Safety is our first & top priority when pups are at play or camping overnight.  All our Certified Camp Counselors™ have been trained in dog/pack behavior & are certified in Pet CPR & First Aid. We separate our play groups by size & temperament. You can rest assure your dog will be playing with dogs of like size & like energy level. Our certified Camp Counselors™ monitor your pup’s play to ensure our campers play well together without conflict & still have a blast while at camp. Meet the Owners  Landon & Deanna Tymochko are native to the Elk Grove area. Both graduates of Elk Grove High School, they decided to start their own business and thought, "What better place to start a business than our home town?" After relying on friends & family to watch their "furry children" while on business trips or vacation, they decided to open a facility untraditional to the kennel industry. They wanted a fun place for dogs to romp & play while their owners are away, so they decided to open a Camp Bow Wow franchise in hopes that the citizens of Elk Grove also wanted a fun & safe place to take their dogs for the day or while on vacation.

VACCINATION REQUIREMENTS!!!

To ensure the good health of our customers while camping, we require the following vaccination of all our campers.    Rabies Distemper (aka DHPP, DHLPP, or DA2P) Bordetella (Must be given no less than 10 days prior to interview/day camp or boarding)*  *The Bordetella vaccine must be given a minimum of 10 days prior to participating in a new camper interview, day camp & boarding. The Bordetella vaccination is a lot like the human flu vaccine. Just as some people will have a reaction to the flu shot & develop mild flu-like symptoms, so too will some dogs develop canine cough-type symptoms from the Bordetella vaccine. If your dog is going to develop those symptoms they will usually show up within 7-10 days. Stress (such as boarding) is more likely to cause that reaction. A few words about Stress & Illness: At Camp Bow Wow – Elk Grove, we do everything possible to ensure that your pet’s stay is comfortable & stress-free.  Please understand, however, that boarding can be stressful for some animals, no matter how much loving care is provided.  Campers are in strange surroundings with people they do not know, & their daily routine is changed from their normal home environment.  No matter the age of the pet, he/she may become stressed by these changes. While stress does not cause illnesses, it is well documented that it can cause an underlying illness to surface.   This can include viral or bacterial illnesses.  We do everything we can to ensure a safe & sanitary environment which minimizes exposure to bacteria & viruses; however, we are unable to control all conditions or airborne particles.  For questions concerning our vaccination requirements & policies, please call & speak to a camp counselor directly.
