Peter & Bella Tormey

Dear Kris,
Thanks so much for opening Camp Bow Wow and for being so gracious in helping Peter and Bella develop their social skills.
As you know, when we first came to you, we were concerned we might have to either get rid of one or both of our Kuvasz, or have to consider expensive Dog Therapy with prescription drugs and other expense. We had a Dog Bite incident in which some neighborhood teenagers had been teasing the dogs in our yard while we were gone and one of the dogs, probably Peter, bit one of the kids rather seriously. While Peter and Bella were doing what any guard dog might have done, California is still a ‘strict-liability’ state and owners are responsible for dog bites no matter what the person who was bitten was doing to deserve it. Simply put, under the law, dog owners are wrong, wrong, wrong and the victim is always right. A lot of dog owners don’t know that.
While our insurance company managed the dog bite, we still had to manage the dog and improve both their social skills. In spite of the dog bite history you were willing to interview Peter and Bella and give them a chance. Fortunately, they both passed the interview and have been happy campers ever since.
Peter has shown the best improvement and has overcome his anxiety with strangers dramatically. Bella has gotten more social than she ever was but both dogs are now exceptionally well behaved. Best of all, we had a great place to leave them while we went on our recent vacation to Maui. It’s very hard to take a vacation and leave dogs boarded in a kennel where they have little room and no friends that they know. It’s good to know that you, Tim, Elizabeth, Justin and all your staff are there for them and have become they’re family away from home. It’s particularly great now that they accept taking a bath at Camp Bow Wow.
Camp Bow Wow has been a blessing to our peace of mind and our lifestyle.
