Introducing Home Buddies by Camp Bow Wow!

As North America’s premier doggy day care and boarding facility Camp Bow Wow is branching out to help more than just our canine buddies. Welcome Home Buddies! Home Buddies is a complete in-home pet care service. All employees of are licensed, bonded, insured, and animal lovers. If your pet needs it, they can do it.

Owner Tony Caruso, a devoted pet lover, opened the doors to Camp Bow Wow in Saint Clair Shores in 2007. Since then he has had requests for other animals and this seemed like the perfect move to service more of our little “buddies.” As Caruso explains, "Some dogs just aren’t good in kennels. Keeping your pet in their own home helps to eliminate some of the guilt pet owners may feel.  It also allows us the opportunity to take care of multiple pets, such as cats, rabbits, fish, and iguanas to name a few."

Home Buddies directors Chad and MaryBeth Hyvonen are life long residents of Saint Clair Shores and employees of Camp Bow Wow. When they heard the opportunity to open Home Buddies they jumped on it. Owning all different breeds of dog throughout life, and two Chesapeake Bay Retrievers currently, Chad has always been a lover of dogs. MaryBeth stated to us “I have had so many different pets over the years. We’ve had everything from cats and dogs to snakes and guinea pigs growing up. This just seemed like an awesome program.”

Now you may be wondering to yourself, what exactly does Home Buddies offer? Servicing the Grosse Pointes and Saint Clair Shores areas, Home Buddies will drop off pet supplies and food, walk your dog walking, day and overnight pet-sitting, and pet waste clean-up and removal. They also have web-cams available to rent so you can watch your buddy in your own home while you are away or at work. They do all the dirty work so all you need to do when you get home from work is hang out and play with your buddy.
