Glen Hatchell is a Dog Trainer (CPDT-KA) and Behavior Specialist for both Home Buddies by Camp Bow Wow and the Humane Society of Tampa Bay.  Glen’s acclaimed work with both shelter dogs and household dogs has been featured on national television programs including Daytime, The List and The Daily Buzz, and on the Talking Animals radio program.  His latest project and canine enrichment program at the Humane Society involves shelter dogs interacting and playing with each other out in the play yards at the beginning of the day.

Before plunging into a world of clients who wag their tail and lick him in the face, Glen developed national and international markets for new services for both AT&T and IBM, and he received the IBM Golden Circle Award for his accomplishments. Glen also hosts the Thursday Morning Show on Tampa Bay’s Volunteer Powered Community Radio station, WMNF 88.5fm and wmnf.org, and was recognized as New Programmer of the Year in 1997.  His first career aspiration was to be a Navy fighter pilot.

What Clients Have Said

"Glen's passion for what he does is evident by watching how he interacts with animals. He listened to my concerns, and was able to teach me simple techniques to improve my dogs behavior - and they worked! I am incredibly grateful for his help."  Samantha J. and Mya

"I have had three other dogs I have taken to Obedience classes at other places and none were as effective or as easy going as this one.  No stress on the owners or the dogs.  I am telling everyone I know to watch for your classes because it is not as expensive and the dogs learn what they are there to learn."  Kathie and Sheldon Beagle

"I recently completed the Puppy Basic Obedience class with my border terrier mix Damnit and found the class to be very helpful. Learning basic behavior commands such as sit, stay, leave it, and drop it has greatly enhanced the experience of owning a dog. Glen does a great job of explaining the why's and how to's!"  Ward and Damnit

After graduating from the Advanced Obedience class, we received this email, "Damnit asked me to send you a short note thanking you for showing me how to work effectively with him.  He said he appreciates the way you taught me patience and consistency as being the key to making our partnership more enjoyable."

Hi Glen

Want to thank you again for taking time on a Sunday to come out to help us with Mikey.  For the first time since we have him, Werner feels comfortable to be around him, so everyone is more at ease.  It is also good to know, that I was on the right track with training him, I was having some major doubts about the whole situation.  I took in a tremendous amount of knowledge from you today and I am very grateful for every moment.

Your visit today was the deciding factor as to whether we would keep Mikey or not.  Thanks to you, Mikey now has his forever home and we will all work towards a happy life together.

We all thank you!

Ginny & Werner Stick

and Mikey too!

"In all of my years of working with dogs and horses, Glen is one of the two best trainers I have ever seen.  I've watched him in Shelter Dog Playgroups at the Humane Society, we've had private lessons and taken group classes with him.  His respect for all animals, two-legged and four-legged, is astonishing."  Denise and Tobias
