Glen Hatchell, our certified Bow Wow Behavior Buddy, will visit you and your dog in your home and design a training plan to get your pup on the path to being top dog.  Based on your daily demands and goals for your dog, together we will develop a plan that uses proven, balanced training principles and leverages the extensive knowledge of dog behavior of Camp Bow Wow.

The Bow Wow Behavior Buddies Program

Bow Wow Behavior Buddies training started with an intense four-week immersion into the world of handling shelter dogs. During this time, Glen worked with about 50 dogs, most of which were not ready for adoption because of behavior issues. Glen never knew from one hour to the next what dog he would be handling. The experience was unlike anything in the dog training industry.

The training was led by two nationally renowned trainers and animal experts--Nick Fisher, Executive Director of the Humane Society of the South Platte Valley, and Aimee Sadler, Behavior and Training Program Director at the Longmont Humane Society. Nick led the group through a series of sessions using his successful pack psychology to modify behavior, while Aimee worked extensively with them on applying scientic learning principles to get a dog to want to do what *we* want the dog to do.

Becoming certified through the Bow Wow Behavior Buddies program required learning how to use a multitude of training tools: clickers, dog packs and play groups, gentle leaders, good dog collars, electronic collars and more. By design, a Bow Wow Behavior Buddies trainer is knowledgeable in the principles of balance animal training and how to select the right tool for the individual dog. Bow Wow Behavior Buddies trainers are skilled to handle everything from obedience training to behaviorial issues, which is broader spectrum than many method-based trainers.

Whether it is dealing with food or treat guarding issues, agression, on-leash reactions to other dogs, or developing basic obedience skills, Bow Wow Behavior Buddies certified trainers know how to change the behavior.
