What is In-Home Pet Care?

In-home pet care encompasses a large list of services we provide for any need you have for your pet(s) while you’re out of town, at work or just running errands. We have dog walking, pet sitting (we can either come to your house a few times a day or we can stay at your home), care for special needs pets (older animals, pets who just had surgery, etc.), poop scoop services, pet food and supply delivery, concierge services (such as dry cleaning pick-up, grocery shop before you return from vacation, etc.) and at some of our Home Buddies locations, we have Dog Adventures (we take your dogs for hikes, go to dog parks, etc.), Bark ‘N Ride shuttle services (we can take your dog on the Dog Adventures, rides to vet appointments, grooming or training. |
Where do you walk the dogs?

We will walk your dogs anywhere that you normally walk them. We can stick to the immediate neighborhood or we can walk to a nearby dog park depending on your preference. We like to keep your dog(s) on their regular routines to be consistant with what he or she expects on a walk. |

If you catch your pets doing something cute or funny, you can click a button on your keyboard and take a photo or record their actions. |
How do you justify your prices?

Do you offer a discount for extended stays?
|
Yes. We offer monthly pet sitting packages as well as a 7-day overnight package. |
Can you provide my dog his/her medications?
|
We are happy to administer most medications to your pet(s). We will discuss this in more detail with you during your complimentary consultation. |
Do you service all types of pets?
|
Yes, for the most part. We service dogs, cats, birds, fish, small mammals and reptiles. The only animals we don’t service would be exotic “pets” like lions, tigers and bears. |
What vaccinations are required?
|
There are no required vaccinations with Home Buddies pets except for the state-required vaccinations that all pets must have. We do recommend that our canine companions be vaccinated for Rabies, Distemper and Bordetella |
What do you do in case of illness or injury?
|
First and foremost, we tend to your pets' immediate needs. Our Home Buddies Caregivers are certified in pet CPR and first aid and can care for your pets' superficial wounds. If it’s something serious, we will take the pet to your personal vet (or emergency vet if your vet doesn’t provide after-hours services). We will call you at the emergency number you leave us or your closest emergency contact. |
Can my pets stay at the Caregiver’s house instead of my house?

Currently, it is our policy that we do not allow pets to stay at their caregiver's home. Our service allows pets to maintain their regular schedules in the comfort of their own homes. |
My dog has health issues, will you still come?
|
Absolutely. One of the many benefits of Home Buddies is that we are trained to care for elderly pets or pets with special needs. We will review with you, in detail, what care you provide your pet and we will make sure to follow your instructions so as not to interrupt their routine. |
Does someone stay at my house overnight?
|
Yes. If you prefer that we stay at your house, we will do so. |
What is your cancellation policy?
|
Home Buddies requires a minimum of 3 days (72 hours) advanced notice for canceling scheduled services. All services scheduled are subject to Home Buddies 3 day (72 hour) cancellation policy. Reservations canceled with less than 3 days (72 hours) prior to scheduled service incur a $25 cancellation fee plus fifty percent (50%) of the total cost of the scheduled services. If Client cancels any multi-night overnight Pet Care Service two or more days prior to the completion date during the term of any reservation period, they will be charged a cancellation fee equal to $25 plus two (2) nights of service, or one night, if only one day or night remains. |
Can I get multiple Home Buddies Cams™ to view my pets?

Absolutely. We can setup one camera or five or however many you’d like. Check with our individual local Home Buddies to ask for prices on the camera rentals (or purchases). |
Where should I put the Home Buddies Cams™ to view my pets?
|
We recommend placing it where your pet(s) tend to go. The nice part about our web cameras is they are wireless, so if you’d like your Home Buddies Caregiver to move the camera while you’re gone, we can move it to any part of the house or even follow your pet(s) with the camera while we’re at your home. |
Can I buy a Home Buddies Cam™?

Absolutely. Once you use the Home Buddies Cam™, you’ll be addicted. You can purchase the cam for yourself or buy as gifts for friends/family with pets. |
Are you insured and bonded?
|
Yes, we are completely insured with the appropriate insurance and each of our individual Home Buddies franchises are fully bonded as well. |
Do you do background checks on your employees?
|
Yes, all of our Home Buddies Caregivers have to pass background checks. We only hire people we would trust with our own animals. |
Will I be able to contact the consultant who is watching my pet?
|
Yes, you will have the consultant's cell phone number and email address. All of our consultants have texting capability as well. You can also contact the main office line or the owner (Elishia Krauss) directly on her cell phone at any point. |
What happens if you (the Caregiver) gets sick?
|
We will provide an alternate Certified Caregiver. |
What happens if my house is damaged in my absence?
|
We are covered by our insurance and can provide proof of insurance upon request. |
What is your procedure if my pet escapes?
|
We will do everything in our power to make sure this doesn’t happen. However, in the event this does occur, we will contact you immediately so you are aware that we are vigorously looking for your pet(s). We will also contact the appropriate local agencies to help locate your pet(s) as soon as possible. |
Do you have disaster preparedness plans?
|
In the event of a natural disaster such as an earthquake, tornado, hurricane or other disaster, we will do all we can to make sure your pet(s) are safe and that you and/or your emergency contacts are contacted. We are trained in pet CPR and first aid, so if there are any injuries, we follow our safety procedures to tend to your pet(s). |
Where do you dispose of the poop that you scoop?
|
We can dispose of the poop in our sealed trash bags in your waste receptacles. |
