Mira loves pets! She is originally from Ukraine, but Mira has lived and studied in the US since 1998, and now considers California her home. She grew up with a wide variety of pets – dogs, cats, bunnies, hamsters and even chickens! Mira graduated from UCSD with a Masters in International Relations and decided to stay in San Diego working for an alternative energy startup and Home Buddies.  She loves the opportunity to always be around pets, especially dogs.  In her spare time, Mira is very active with yoga, running, playing tennis and softball, and she really enjoys taking clients’ dogs on regular jogs.

Meet Lexie!  Lexie has always been an animal lover who grew up in San Diego around all sorts of pets - dogs, fish, guinea pigs, birds and even frogs!  Now her kitty, Bootsie, keeps her company along with her daschunds, Buddy and Duchess.  Because she loves working with people and animals, Lexie is currently studying to be a nurse at college.  After graduation, she wants to have a profession that enables her to give back to her community.  In her spare time, Lexie enjoys the beach, traveling, walking her dogs, and meeting new people.

Say Hi to Sandy!  Sandy has been walking dogs, taking care of cats, birds, fish and turtles for the last eight years since moving from Massachusetts to La Jolla in 1999.  In addition to loving and caring for pets, Sandy had an exciting career as a sportswriter at the Worcester Telegram & Gazette in Worcester, Massachusetts where he covered the Boston Bruins, the New England Patriots, Super Bowls, World Series and NCAA basketball Final Fours along with high schools and college games. Sandy has been able to continue his sportswriting career here in San Diego, where he is a freelance reporter for the Associated Press and MLB.com as well as working for the La Jolla Patch.com.

Hi, my name is Sarah!  I am excited to be a part of Home Buddies.  Here's a little bit about me:  I am a So. Cal. girl, with the exception of spending a few years in Wisconsin.  I grew up in Garner Valley, near Idylwild, on a large ranch.  We had all kinds of animals including horses, dogs, cats, chickens, geese, guinea pigs, rabbits, pigeons, and more.  I grew up riding and training horses and competed in rodeos doing barrel racing.  We've always had multiple dogs of all different breeds.  I have a back ground in the medical field, I've worked in a few internal medicine offices, and while living in Wisconsin I worked as a nurse in a fertility clinic.  I enjoy working with both people and animals.  I moved back to La Jolla from Wisconsin about two years ago and let me just say, I have a whole new appreciation for the weather!  I am back into college full time to earn my BS.  So Home Buddies seems to be a perfect fit with my schedule and I am so excited to have lots of great pets in my life as I (for the first time in my life) don't have one of my own living with me.  I look forward to meeting you and your pets, if I haven't already!

Hi! I am Shannon! I was born and raised in La Jolla, CA.  Ever since I was little, I have always loved animals and have been a big advocate for animals. I knew that I had to do something with animals as a career. I have been pet-sitting for the past five years and have loved every moment of it.  As well as being a pet-sitter, I work at a law firm in downtown San Diego and currently getting my Paralegal Certificate at the University of San Diego.  Home Buddies has been a great way for me to integrate my love of animals into a career.  I am so happy to be a part of this amazing company.
