We are so happy to be a part of the Greenville community and have gotten to know many wonderful pets (and their parents!) since we opened. Our whole staff would like to thank all our customers for letting us have, as we say, a 'Dog Gone Good' Time!

We think we are the best Camp Counselors your pup could have! Everyone on staff is a SERIOUS dog lover, with practical training in dog behavior certifications in pet first aid and dog CPR. All of us are eager to meet and greet you and your best canine buddy. Collectively we have many years of experience with dogs, and we promise to take the best possible care of your furry friends.

We spend all day at Day Camp, from early in the morning to late in the evening, watching over your Campers. We are the ones who give out the special Campfire TreatsTM each night before lights out, and tuck each Camper into their own spacious, comfy and clean Cabin.

We pride ourselves on getting to know your pup’s name, who their friends are, and just where they like to be scratched. We will take special care of your furry kids and make sure they have a PAW-some time at Camp. We look forward to meeting you and your furry friends!

MEET THE CAMP DIRECTOR

Jason Drake

Time with CBW: 5 years

What’s your background (personal or professional)?
I grew up in the small town of Ware Shoals, SC and moved around for a while before settling in Columbia where I slung records for a couple of years. I moved to Greenville about 12 years ago with my wife and daughter to be closer to family. I did some work for the Department of Disability and Special Needs for a while but needed a change. I started working at Camp Bow Wow 5 years ago and don’t regret that decision!

What do you love most about your job?
The dogs, of course!

Tell us about your pets:
Cash is a Golden mix. He is a serious little guy with a furrowed brow, who loves treats and squirrels. Cedric is a Lab/Dane mix who gets into and eats everything. His recent favorites are socks and a box of Boo Berry cereal. He is a giant love bug. They make me smile every day.

What are your hobbies outside of camp?
Spending time with my family, writing, playing guitar, reading, watching movies, listening to music, painting and hiking.

If you were a dog breed, which would you be?
Vizsla

What would your dog say about you?
He sure does talk a lot, but he’s a great kisser.

Rianna - Assistant Manager

Time with CBW: 2.5 years

What’s your background (personal or professional)?
I grew up in northern Virginia and moved here when I was 20. Growing up I volunteered with an animal rescue for 8 years, and my family always fostered dogs in our home.

What do you love most about your job?
My job is so rewarding because not only do I get to work with dogs, but our clients are awesome! I look forward to coming to work everyday because of the clients and their pups.

Tell us about your pets:
I have 3 dogs and 1 cat- Bristol and Dega are Cattle Dogs, Odie is a Beagle and Wile E. Coyote the cat, who thinks he's a dog! They are my pride and joy.

What is your favorite dog breed and why?
My favorite breed would be German Shepherds. When I was in 4th grade, I saved all my allowance to get a puppy and that's what I picked. He was the best dog I've ever had.

What are your hobbies outside of camp?
Outside of camp, I spend most of my time with my husband and our pets. I have a very active lifestyle, so I love spending time running downtown, at a barre or yoga class, or swimming

Time with CBW: 6 years

What’s your background (personal or professional)?
I grew up in Milford, Michigan and have always had a special connection with dogs. When I was 19 I got my first job at a kennel working with dogs and fell in love, and ended up working there for 8 years until I moved to SC. I worked at a different kennel here for a year before I got my job at Camp Bow Wow. This is all I’ve ever wanted to do.

What do you love most about your job?
I love training dogs and getting that one on one time with them, but I also enjoy being in the play yards with all the dogs. In my experience, my coworkers are also dog lovers which means we all enjoy our work and therefore get to have fun! It’s very important to me that we all get to enjoy coming to work every day.

Tell us about your pets:
My husband and I currently have two Basset Hounds- Uncle Louie who is around 9 years old and Aunt Fern who is about 4 years old. We rescued both of them from the Carolina Basset Hound Rescue. They are both big lovers of people and other dogs.

What are your hobbies outside of camp?
I enjoy hanging with my family, playing board games and camping. I also enjoy the occasional hike and round of disk golf.

If you were a dog breed, which would you be?
I would hope to be a Vizsla. They’re fun loving, social and not bad to look at! They’re also very trainable, loyal, and energetic.

Time with CBW: 5 years

What’s your background (personal or professional)?
I went to college for a bachelor’s degree in psychobiology. I used to work with dogs in college and have always had dogs growing up. Before starting work at Camp Bow Wow, I did marine mammal training before this.

What do you love most about your job?
I love working with the dogs and helping clients develop a stronger bond with their dogs.

Tell us about your pets:
I have a 9 year old Weimaraner and an 8 year old Rottie. I love my boys and they are great family pups

What’s your favorite breed of dog and why?
I don’t have one really! I love them all. Of course I love my Weimaraner and Rottie, so I guess I would pick one of those breeds if I had to because they’re smart, loyal, and cuddly.

What would your dogs say about you?
That I don’t give them enough treats! That I am patient and love to cuddle and play with them.

Taylor H. - Counselor, Front Desk, Groomer

Time with CBW: 6 months

What’s you background (personal or professional)?
I have lived overseas my whole life and traveled the world. I have always had a love for animals and used to own three horses. I speak French fluently and can understand Spanish. I have worked in the pet industry for the last five years.

What do you love most about your job?
I love making our pet parents happy and providing the best customer service possible, but the best  part of my job is caring for the dogs. I always want to make sure any animal in my care is being taken care of and loved to the best of my ability.

Tell us about your pets:
I have four dogs: Brie, Sam, Dash and Jackson. They are my kids and the loves of my life. Every one of them has a unique store and they are all rescue dogs.

What’s your favorite breed of dog and why?
Pit bulls are my favorite because they are beautiful, loyal, and strong. They’re also smart, easy to train and affectionate.

If you were a dog, which breed would you be?
I would be a Chihuahua because they are spunky, feisty, fun and loveable!

Melissa- Front Desk Manager

Time with CBW: 2.5 years

What’s your background (personal or professional)?
I grew up on a farm in Montana and was homeschooled my whole life. I am the mother of two amazing boys and the wife of a hero. I have worked in dog kennels and child daycares for years. I really like that I have the ability to grow and learn here.

What do you love most about your job?
I love getting to know our clients and the challenges that I get to work on are constantly changing.

Tell us about your pets:
We have two sweet horses, two lovely little kitties, and seven wonderful dogs. We live on eight acres and spend tons of time out hiking, swimming, and just relaxing with them.

What’s your favorite dog breed and why?
This is a hard question because I’ve come to love so many camp dogs from working here and breed doesn’t really matter, but I love Great Danes because they are such gentle giants. I also love Pit Bulls because they’re snuggle bugs. I do also love Goldens too because they are such great family dogs.

If you were a dog, which breed would you be?
Probably a Pit Bull because I am friendly, loveable, and very low maintenance, but will also protect my family and friends.

Haley - Front Desk & Counselor

Time with CBW: 1 year

What’s your background (personal or professional)?
I was born and raised in Easley, SC. I lived in Cincinnati for a while, but moved back because it was too cold! I'm the oldest of eight children. I've worked in retail and the food industry, but never enjoyed either of them, so I decided to try something different, and here I am!

What do you love most about your job?
I love being able to spend so much time with so many dogs. My coworkers are all really awesome and fun to be around, and every day is different than the last, so I'm never bored!

Tell us about your pets:
I have a 6 year old Rottweiler mix named Zora. I adopted her 4 years ago. She is incredibly attached to me, so everywhere I go, she follows. She's very spoiled and I love her more than anything!

What are your hobbies outside of camp?
Typically I will take Zora hiking or to dog parks on my day off, either just the two of us, or with friends and their dogs. I also enjoy laying on the couch with Zora and watching movies. My favorite pastime is painting.

If you were a dog, which breed would you be?
After thinking about it for a while, I'd say I would probably be a Mastiff. They're pretty laid back and have a tendency to be stubborn. I'm a very easy going person, and my mom tells me I'm the most stubborn person she knows. I don't believe that though!
