About Us

Our Team

Camp Bow Wow® Dallas High Five offers dog day care and overnight boarding and our highly-trained staff is dog gone passionate about providing safe, fun and individualized care for your four-legged family members.

We are so happy to be a part of the Dallas High Five community and have gotten to know many wonderful pets (and their parents!) since we opened. Our whole staff would like to thank all our customers for letting us have, as we say, a 'Dog Gone Good' Time!

We think we are the best Camp Counselors your pup could have! Everyone on staff is a SERIOUS dog lover, with practical training in dog behavior and certifications in pet first aid and dog CPR. All of us are eager to meet and greet you and your best canine buddy. Collectively we have many years of experience with dogs, and we promise to take the best possible care of your furry friends.

We spend all day at Day Camp, from early in the morning to late in the evening, watching over your Campers. We are the ones who give out the special Campfire TreatsTM each night before lights out, and tuck each Camper into their own spacious, comfy and clean Cabin.

We pride ourselves on getting to know your pup’s name, who their friends are, and just where they like to be scratched. We will take special care of your furry kids and make sure they have a PAW-some time at Camp. We look forward to meeting you and your furry friends!

Steve & Michelle Martin

Years Open: 5

Camp Bow Wow Dallas High Five is owned and operated by Steve and Michelle Martin, both native Texans. Steve earned a Master’s degree in physics from East Texas State University and an MBA from the University of Texas. He worked at Texas Instruments for 23 years as an engineering manager. Michelle earned her Master’s in English literature from Southern Methodist University and worked as a writer and editor in educational publishing for 15 years.

Steve and Michelle met in June of 2008 and married in 2010, settling near White Rock Lake in Dallas. They merged their fur-family Brady-Bunch style and now have six beautiful kids together: Zoë, Buster, Bella, Bear, Charlie, and Capri.

When Steve decided to take early retirement in 2011, he and Michelle began to ponder: What kind of business can we be passionate about and build together? Camp Bow Wow, with its focus on being the place where a dog can be a dog, and where giving back to the community is a core value, seemed the natural choice. Plus, the kids loved the idea! As the business has grown, helping homeless pups find "Fur-ever Homes" through our Camp Foster Program remains a top priority. After all, is IS all about the dogs!

Fun Facts

What we love most about our jobs: We get to meet and know so many amazing pets (and their parents!) and feel blessed each day to witness how they continue to learn, grow, and love. Can a job get much better than that?

Our dogs: Charlie is in Steve's lap; Capri is in Michelle's (their favorite places!). On the floor, left to right, are Bear, Bella, Buster, and Zoe.
