Careers_1.jpg

We are so happy to be a part of the Boise community and have gotten to know many wonderful pets (and their parents!) since we opened. Our whole staff would like to thank all our customers for letting us have, as we say, a 'Dog Gone Good' Time!

We think we are the best Camp Counselors your pup could have! Everyone on staff is a SERIOUS dog lover, with practical training in dog behavior certifications in pet first aid and dog CPR. All of us are eager to meet and greet you and your best canine buddy. Collectively we have many years of experience with dogs, and we promise to take the best possible care of your furry friends.

We spend all day at Day Camp, from early in the morning to late in the evening, watching over your Campers. We are the ones who give out the special Campfire TreatsTM each night before lights out, and tuck each Camper into their own spacious, comfy and clean Cabin.

We pride ourselves on getting to know your pup’s name, who their friends are, and just where they like to be scratched. We will take special care of your furry kids and make sure they have a PAW-some time at Camp. We look forward to meeting you and your furry friends!

MEET THE OWNERS

Beth & Greg

A couple of the most frequently asked questions I receive while giving a tour of our camp is, “Why did you decide to do this? “, and “Why Camp Bow Wow?” It’s pretty simple really. Greg and I love animals! We decided to make it our living since it was already our passion.

We decided Camp Bow Wow was a great alternative for people who travel and need overnight boarding for their dogs. We used to travel a lot and our children would come into our home and watch our many animals. A funny thing happened. They grew up and now have families of their own. Greg and I decided we wanted to help other dog (and animal) guardians by offering an alternative to traditional boarding. We give furry family members a home away from home. We also have day camp, where a dog can be a dog!

Hello! My name is Kourtney, and I am the manager for Camp Bow Wow Boise. I have been working here for 3 years, and it is absolutely my dream job. I don't even consider what I do work, just because it is too much fun. I am originally from Emmett Idaho, and I am now living in Boise. I have two dogs, Oakley an English Pointer mix (pictured), and Sir Archie, a Staffordshire Terrier who are my room mates and the adopted loves of my life. In free time we love to swim, hike in the foothills, and come to Camp and play with all of our best friends of course. I also have two leopard geckos named Little Foot and Petrie, and two Chinese Fighting Fish named Chong, and Brian. I really love all animals, and that is why working for Camp Bow Wow has been such a rewarding experience for me. I'm grateful I get the opportunity to work with dogs, as well as the many wonderful pet parents every day. I look forward to seeing all of you and your fur friends at Camp, old and new!

Position: Camp Shift Lead
Years with Camp Bow Wow: 5

I moved to Boise from Seattle almost 7 years ago. I’ve been working at Camp for over 5 years now and I love having the privilege of spending my days surrounded by pups. I’m currently a senior at Boise State studying Criminal Justice and Psychology; once I graduate I hope to continue into law enforcement. My husband Matt and I have a small zoo of our own at home that includes 3 dogs: Mac (an Australian Koolie mix) Boo, and Rollie (both Pit Bulls), and our final furry companion, a ferret named Naughty Weasel. I don’t have much free time between work, school, and our pets but in the time I do have you will likely find me watching football, listening to Prince, or just hanging out with friends.

Position: Camp Shift Lead
Years with Camp Bow Wow: 2.5

Hi there! My name is Josie and I have been working at Camp Bow Wow Boise since early 2013. Outside of work, I enjoy traveling, cycling, attending concerts and hiking with my 3 year old Bull Terrier, Molly. I have worked for many years with a variety of animals in vet clinics and with Boise State University. I also spent 6 years volunteering at the Boise Zoo. I have worked hands on with primates, penguins, falcons and hummingbirds, but working solely with dogs has been a great pleasure! I am amazed every day by their intelligence and the wide variety of their personalities. Working for Camp Bow Wow has been a blast, and Molly loves to come in to play while I work!

Hi my name is Danielle and I'm 20 years old. I've worked with animals all my life because my mom and I used to foster animals from the Idaho Humane Society. We even adopted six of the dogs for our own. Caring for pets is a strong passion of mine. I also really enjoy swimming and fishing but I love the snowy weather most of all. I love to go snowboarding with my family and friends and also just watching it fall, my pups also get a kick out of chasing the snowflakes.

Position: Camp Counselor
Years with Camp Bow Wow: 3

Hi my name is Jim and my dog is Bailey. We've worked for Camp Bow Wow for 3 years now. I started at the Meridian Camp when it first opened. I spent a year there and the last 2 years I've been working at the Boise Camp. I love working with dogs. I've had many different types of jobs in my life and this one is by far my favorite. I get to spend my day with my dog and we get to spend our day playing with a bunch of dogs. I wish everyone could take their dogs with them where ever they go. It bothers me to see dogs missing their families and feeling lonely. I really like working at a place that goes out of their way to give the dogs attention as well as good care.

Brooklyn

Position: Camp Counselor
Years with Camp Bow Wow: 1

Hi I am Brooklyn! I am originally from Portland, Oregon, but moved to Boise to go to school! I am 20 and I am now a junior at Boise State and studying Political Science.
I grew up with dogs and last summer got my own. He is a Pomeranian/Papillion Jack Russell mix named Oliver. He is the cutest little thing out there, but I am biased.
In my free time I love to hike and play fetch with my dog. The snow is my favorite kind of weather and I love to be around water. I love working with animals. Ever since I was a kid I was more into animals than anything else. I walked dogs around my neighborhood and pet sat growing up. I love working at Camp Bow Wow because it allows me to be around animals while I work and that is the best kind of environment there is!

When I'm not working for the Boise School District, I can usually be found playing with my 11 year old lab, reading, or binge watching shows of questionable merit on Netflix. My hobbies include drawing, camping, and cooking. I've always loved animals. I am a sophomore at BSU with the aspirations of going onto dental school after I get my degree in Health Science here in Boise. I am also apart of a sorority on campus, Tri Delta. I have only ever lived in Idaho. My favorite time of the year is summer because I love camping, swimming and being outdoors. I have one cat, his name is Zeti. He is all black and very playful. His favorite thing to do is play with hair ties and cuddle me. Currently I am training him to walk on a leash but we will see how that goes. I love all animals, especially dogs. And I have only been working for Home Buddies for a few months but I love it!

Position: Home Buddies Caregiver
Years with Home Buddies: 2

My name is Hillary, and I've worked for Home Buddies for a year and a half. I've always loved animals. When I was a young girl, I used to beg my parents to let me keep every dog, cat, rabbit, and chipmunk that came into our yard. I spent my 20's working at the Seneca Park Zoo in Rochester NY. For me, heaven is sitting on the floor surrounded my dogs, with a bowl of popcorn and a good movie; something that happens at least once a week in the Beale household. I've lived in Boise with my wonderful husband, and two beautiful kids for the past 23 years, and I currently work for the Boise School District as a paraprofessional. I love spending time with dogs and cats, so Home Buddies is pretty much the perfect job for me!

Not only have I had a dog by my side since I was a baby; I have also lived on a farm with pigs, horses, goats, chickens, ducks, ferrets, and whatever else you can think of. Animals are family forever.

I have been with Home Buddies since June 2013 and absolutely love it. I sincerely believe that we have the best clients, and I'm always looking forward to spending time with the many animals I care for. I am a full time student working two other jobs and unfortunately am not in a position to devote the time needed to a pet of my own. Home Buddies allows me to create special relationships with other people's pets and gives me the opportunity to love on them as if they were mine! I'm very thankful to be a part of such a trusted and fun company.

I'm attending Boise State where I study math and would like to teach and coach at the middle to high school level. Most of my spare time is spent with my parents and their two Cocker Spaniels, Moose and Marley. They are also in the final stages of adopting a blind Cocker Spaniel from California, and we are all looking forward to the new family addition. I also enjoy playing softball, watching baseball (go Red Sox), and going to rock concerts.
